The Jobs Module can be accessed under the System Management module in the left-hand side navigation pane.
Various jobs can be configured in the Job Management Module. For example, there are various jobs such as jobs defined for Parts, Currency, Customer, Category Area, etc. These jobs can further be scheduled to run at a specific time of the day – to integrate the data from an external system to MeRLIN. The data is integrated as per the configuration specified in the Job Management.
We will see in detail what are the configurations available for various jobs.
- The Data Integration tab provides the details of all the jobs related to integration such as part updates, commodity updates, Currency updates, etc. from an external system to MeRLIN.
- The Security Management tab displays the list of jobs that are related to the Security Management module- we now have the “Automatically disable User if inactive for more than 90 days”. As per the schedule configured, the job gets executed and as the job gets executed, it disables all the users who have been inactive for 90days.
- Under the Purchase order tab, we have the jobs that are related to the Purchase Order Management module. Here we have the jobs such as sending reminders for PO stage status update when executed will send reminders to the supplier to update the PO stage status.
- The System Administration tab will display the jobs related to System Administration such as Initiate delegation for example. If this job is executed, all the approvals move to the delegated user as defined in the Delegation Management.
- The notifications tab displays the jobs related to the notification. For instance, we have the Supplier Document expiry job, which when executed sends a notification to the Suppliers if the Supplier documents have expired.
- The Supplier Feedback Survey tab lists the job related to the feedback surveys provided by the suppliers. The jobs such as updating the status depending on the response due date.
- Subscription tab, the job is used to update the status of the user whose subscription is expired and also to notify the user- of the due renewal.
- RFQ: The jobs include auto-publish and RFQ reminders.
- Compliance Survey: Lists the jobs for compliance surveys, in-person audits, and reminder notifications.
- Risk Management: Lists the job to get the GDACS data
- Supplier Management: Lists the job to run the supplier verification process.
User Interface
Let us consider an example: The Job related to the integration of Parts from an External System to MeRLIN. If the items are being integrated for the first time, then the job is called “Parts Initial” for ease of identification. From the second time onwards, all the succeeding jobs are identified by the Job Name “Parts Incremental”.

The Action button will show the possible actions that can be performed on a selected Job.
