To understand how attributes can be modified in the Master data maintenance, let us take the Part Management as an example and see how the various actions are performed. The same steps can be followed for other masters as well.
Steps to change attribute of a master data:
- Choose the master data from the left side navigation menu (namely one of Part, Supplier, Part-Plant, etc.).
- Choose the Organization Unit from the dropdown. Only the items defined for the selected Organization unit will be displayed in the grid.
- Use filter to reach a sub-set of data whose attribute needs to be modified. Either use the search option or the advanced multi-select filter.
- Click on Action to find two options- Add\Change.
ADD– Enter the new part details and click on Save. The Category tab will let you add category for the selectd part, UoM & Conversions can be provided, Tax applicable for the part is chosen under the Tax tab. One or more organization units can be chosen under the Organization Unit(s) tab. Attributes tab will let you create dynamic attributes for a part.
CHANGE- If you would like to change any existing data, select one or more parts, and click on change. You will then be provided with the list of attributes to select from. For instance, lets choose Category.
Now, enter the first few letters of the category to see the related options displayed in the dropdown. Select the category from the dropdown list and click on Save.
