The Material Resource Planning Demands are the demands that are integrated into MeRLIN from Epicor, SAP, or similar External Systems. These demands for items arise as a result of inventory movement, manufacturing processes, etc. in an External System. Under the MRP demands in MeRLIN, you can create Emergency POs, Contract POs, and Create Auctions and RFQs for the items displayed in the list. We shall see the details in the following sections.
Menu Path: Demand Management >> Active Demands. Show: MRP demands
Click Action >> View to view the details of the chosen MRP demand. You can only read (view) the information.
The General Information tab will display the details of the item.
The Attribute section conveys the sources of MRP demand in the External System. For example, the Attribute list shown in the below image conveys that the MRP demand has arisen due to the creation of a Sales Order as well as an Inventory Reorder process.

Here is the list of various activities that you can perform in MeRLIN for the Demands raised by an External system.
- Create Emergency Regular PO: Choose one or more MRP demands to create an Emergency regular PO.
- Provide the Purchase Order Date and choose the Supplier from the list.
- Create a Contract Regular PO: Choose one or more MRP demand items to create a Contract Regular PO and provide the Purchase Order Date.
- You will be provided with the list of Available Active contracts for the chosen item. Select the contract and click on the Create PO button.
- Create Auction: Choose one or more MRP Demand Items and click on the Create Auction.
- Provide the name of the Auction and a detailed description and click Submit.
- Create RFQ: Choose one or more MRP Demand Items and click on the Create RFQ.
- Provide the name of the RFQ and a detailed description and click Submit.
- View Available Contract Prices: Using this Action, you will be able to see the available list of Contract Items
